The Medical Equipment Procurement Specialist supports the sourcing and procurement of clinical medical equipment and technology such as surgical equipment, monitoring and patient care, rehabilitation and therapy, diagnostic equipment, dental equipment, and other capital assets essential to veterinary care. This role works closely with hospital teams and medical equipment supplier partners, overseeing order tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communication to procurement activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

We’re looking for a Medical Equipment Procurement Specialist to join the Thrive Pet Healthcare Home Office team.
In this role, you’ll play a meaningful part in advancing our organization’s priorities and supporting our hospital teams. Your expertise will help improve processes, elevate the employee and client experience, and strengthen the operational foundation of a growing, nationwide veterinary network.
What You’ll Do
- Support sourcing and procurement activities for medical equipment categories such as ECG/EKG monitors, blood pressure monitors, anesthesia machines, surgical tables and lights, patient warming systems, autoclaves and sterilizers, infusion pumps, microscopes, and other facility & support equipment such as exam tables and cages/kennels
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and retirement of medical equipment
- Execute and manage purchase orders and maintain procurement records
- Support equipment lifecycle tracking, including warranty and service documentation
- Assist with tracking spend and savings across assigned medical equipment categories
- Prepare reports and dashboards for category performance and supplier metrics
- Assist with audits and internal reviews by maintaining organized records and documentation
- Medical equipment asset management systems support
- Stay informed on industry trends, supplier innovations, and best practices in medical equipment sourcing.
- Initiate and secure quotes or bid documentation for medical equipment and related services
- Support supplier evaluations, assist in preparing contract documents, and basic negotiation activities to help maintain strong supplier relationships
- Assist with supplier onboarding by collecting required documentation and helping ensure all onboarding steps are completely accurate
- Monitor supplier performance and assist in resolving delivery, quality, or service issues to help minimize disruptions to hospital operations
- Support procurement activities for medical equipment by coordinating project tasks, gathering information, and assisting with sourcing efforts
- Work with internal teams to collect equipment requirements and help resolve routine procurement questions from hospital teams
- Serve as a point of contact between internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assist teams in understanding procurement policies and follow standard sourcing processes
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve equipment standardization, utilization, and lifecycle management.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization’s goals and objectives
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (equivalent professional experience will be considered)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working with veterinary medical equipment
- 1-3 years of experience in medical equipment sourcing and procurement, preferably veterinary
- Veterinary technician experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel and procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
