About You
You’re an experienced veterinary technician who enjoys leading a team while staying hands-on in patient care. You’re confident in surgery, anesthesia, and dentistry, and thrive in a fast-paced GP setting.
You’re a strong communicator, a supportive mentor, and someone who takes pride in delivering excellent care to both patients and clients.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Lead, mentor, and support the veterinary technician and assistant team to ensure high-quality patient care and workflow efficiency
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, and treatment plans
- Oversee daily technical operations, including treatment area flow, appointment support, and hospitalization care
- Monitor and maintain anesthesia safety, surgical protocols, and patient recovery standards
- Perform advanced technical skills such as radiographs, dental procedures, laboratory diagnostics, and catheter placement
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, OSHA standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support inventory management, ordering, and proper handling of medical supplies and medications
- Train and onboard new team members; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Partner with practice leadership to improve processes, patient care standards, and team engagement
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing education on treatment plans, medications, and at-home care
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience in a general practice setting
- Previous leadership, charge tech, or mentorship experience
- Strong proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, surgery support, and dental procedures
- Experience with radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and patient care workflows
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and client service
Preferred
- Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) in Texas
- Prior Lead Veterinary Technician or supervisory experience
- Experience with inventory management or scheduling workflows
- Familiarity with practice management software (e.g., Cornerstone, Avimark, eVetPractice)
