Description

The Director, Product Development is responsible for managing multiple teams of Software Developers and Business Analysts to deliver Products/Projects (New and Maintenance), on schedule, according to business requirements, and in adherence to standards set by RealPage and client partners. The Director, Product Development schedules, coordinates, and monitors the progress and final delivery of software projects through design, development, testing, and deployment, development partners, customers and other RealPage departments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES � Oversee and coordinate all activities related to Product Analysis, Design, and Quality Assurance � Interact with development partners, vendors, customers, and developers to define product requirements and create design specifications for new functionality and enhancements to current products � Manage and prioritize enhancement requests, product features, and functions so that development is able to meet company objectives for a) deploying new sites, b) maintaining established value propositions, c) ensuring positive user experience, and d) meeting required commitments to clients � Ensure that requirements and specifications are documented according to RealPage standards and procedures so they can support product development and provide product release information to other RealPage departments and customers � Adhere to published SAS 70 control objectives � Prepare regular review and status reports � Work closely with executive management, product managers, development, development partners, and other departments to prepare and communicate product release plans. � Monitor and manage customer-reported product issues and coordinate development and testing efforts to resolve problems. � � Work with other product divisions to manage and maintain integration points. � � Ensure that key features, benefits, and positioning of products are accurately and consistently conveyed internally and to the marketplace. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES � Master�s degree in Computer Science; equivalent experience in software development/management will be considered � Certified PMP (Preferred) � Strong knowledge of software development life cycle and product management � Minimum 4 year experience in a leadership or management role � Excellent verbal and written communication skills � Proven technical writing abilities � Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills � Exceptional People Management Skills � Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external management � Excellent critical thinking skills � Strong analytical and problem-solving skills � Strong attention to detail; highly organized � Ability to drive cross-functional teams and technical resources from multiple areas of the company � Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team � Strong project management skills � Expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) � Ability to work extended hours when needed to meet departmental deadlines � Knowledge of Product Analysis and/or Quality Assurance standards and practices
