About the role:

The Accounts Payable Manager will lead the Accounts Payable team (team of 2), manage the entire accounts payable process, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves supervising staff, managing vendor relationships, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What you’ll achieve:  
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor accounts payable staff, including performance evaluations and professional development
  • Invoice Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests
  • Payment Management: Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, resolve any discrepancies or issues, and negotiate payment terms when necessary
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Reporting: Prepare and present accounts payable reports, including aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and other financial analyses
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Audit Support: Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed
  • System Management: Oversee the accounts payable system, including software updates, troubleshooting, and user training
  • Treasury/Banking: Support the treasury team with bank account transfers and payment requests
About you: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus but are not required

The full base pay range for this role is between $96,000 and $160,000.
