About the role:

We are seeking a supply chain professional to provide the leadership necessary to develop the Manufacturing Planning Team at Ampere, inclusive of our SOC and Platform product lines. The role will be responsible for all factory sites (US and Asia), focusing on the detailed development of executable processes & factory schedules, communicating those schedules to the site, coordinating with Manufacturing Operations during the execution of those schedules and adjusting & adapting plans to the actual performance of each facility. As the final planning element prior to execution, this position has a critical role in ensuring that we “build the right stuff” - Right product at the right time for the right customer at the right cost.

 What you’ll achieve:
  • Define sustainable, and repeatable processes that allow effective management of our supply plans and execution of those plans, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Manage the teams that translate mid-range capacity feasible plans into weekly & output requirements for the factories – currently we are staffed with 5 planners across both SOC and Platform. The team may grow as the factory loadings increase over time.
  • Keep US and Asia teams aligned and adhering to process as well as jointly contributing to process improvements. Coordinate the execution of build strategies across the geographies.
  • Provide Supply/Demand matching for short term output in support of sales orders and sales forecasts, including predicting weekly, monthly and quarterly supply for products in relationship to the real and forecasted demand as well as inventory implications
  • Monitor factory execution and adapt weekly schedules to optimize the output and inventory position of the company
  • Communicate factory output and material input status to the manufacturing community with implications of those performance metrics
  • Partner with the Sales Operations team to understand customer priorities during times of constraints, and to ensure all information is available to effectively execute the logistics element of order fulfillment
  • Ensure ERP system transactions for planning processes are executed flawlessly, including maintaining exceptional data quality within our planning tools and ERP
Work hand in hand with the IT partners to design processes and reporting for Factory Planning within the Advanced Planning and Scheduling tools (Kinaxis / RapidResponse)
Initial (first 6 months) will be focused on process development, documentation and alignment with the team to effectively and efficiently execute the ramp planned in 2025
About you:
  • MBA, Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or other adjacent fields with 12+ years in Supply Chain, Product Planning, or related work experience. Must have directly managed people and show organizational development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with Factory Scheduling / Master Scheduling functions, working across multiple geographic locations and multiple factories, as well as managing the people who will support the planning & scheduling function. English & Mandarin languages are actively utilized so multilingual capability is a significant advantage – although not required (English being the predominant business language)
  • Experience working within the complexities of a semiconductor company which includes SOCs, multi die and test flows, bins and yields, and process variants.  In platforms, it includes the engineering dynamics and custom solutions in small volume with BOM complexity and materials management.  Experience should include working with a supply chain that relies upon subcontracted manufacturing support, with a significant focus on Assembly/Test and Platform development.
  • Knowledge of the balance necessary between supply availability and demand (Orders and forecasts) as well as deep experience optimizing a factory supply in execution mode
  • Experience working with Advanced Planning & Scheduling tools (APS) to support factory loading and output activities – creating and managing models, scenarios and scorecard assessments.
  • Preferred system is Kinaxis RapidResponse, but also willing to consider other APS capabilities.  Focus will be on the usage and leveraging of these systems.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, repeatable and actionable summary of the status, challenges, and opportunities of factory planning output plan & execution: aligning across organizational boundaries and with C-Suite executives
  • Strong teamwork / partnership approach to solving business problems is required to execute this work. Primary partners will be Sales Operations, Manufacturing Operations and Logistics and the key enablement capability provided by IT.
  • Deep understanding the integrated nature of Process, People and Tools to enable effective work output for any system – and the ability to document and communicate them effectively
  • As is expected in an NPI/Engineering start up environment, there must be a demonstrated ability to tolerate ambiguity, demonstrate an ability to problem solve in high velocity change environment and balance the need to “harden” our processes while maintaining the speed of change needed to respond to ever changing business and technical needs.
