Senior Financial Analyst
Are you innately curious, and passionate about seeking the truth using financial data? Splunk is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Customer Success FP&A team. Candidates will have outstanding partnership and communication skills, possess deep attention to detail, be able to balance multiple priorities, and thrive in the ambiguity that comes with a dynamic Customer Success organization.
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager of Global Customer Success, this individual is a spreadsheet guru who is excited to dive into large data sets, leveraging them to create reporting and metrics that will drive insights and decision making. You will be intimately involved in metrics reporting, budget vs. actuals analysis, and the monthly close and forecasting cycles for the Professional Services and Education & Enablement teams. Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
- Ability to distill storylines from large data sets, creating reports and dashboards to drive executive insights and decision making in support of our strategic and financial plans.
- Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, providing recommendations for improvement, and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
- Perform financial month-end close activities, generate accurate monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, and maintain an ongoing analysis of actuals versus forecast, plan, and prior year.
- Prepare management reporting / dashboards – analyze results, synthesize business performance indicators, assess business risk and operating performance, and timely communicate risks and opportunities to management.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide decision making support and forward looking scenario analyses of risks and opportunities.
- Partner across the team to leverage best practices to maximize team productivity.
Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!
- 5 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong preference for those with prior experience in Financial Planning & Analysis in a software/SaaS business.
- Strong forecasting methods and techniques. Advanced analytical and quantitative abilities. Able to manipulate large amounts of data and summarize key outputs.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating complex financial information in an easy to understand format.
- Collaboratively-focused and able to work well with others in a fast-paced and ever changing business.
- Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with minimal supervision.
- Software and system skills (Google Suite, SFDC, SAP, Workday, Tableau, Slack, Zoom) a plus. Microsoft Excel is a must.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Alteryx or equivalent data analytics tool.
Education: Got it!
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics
