Software Engineer (AppInspect Team)

Join our Developer Ecosystem team as part of our app lifecycle management initiative to build fully automated systems to validate, publish and manage our.
Role
We imagine a world where anyone can build a Splunk app to extend the base functionality of the Splunk Cloud platform. As a Software Engineer on the App Health and Developer Edition engineering team, you will create products that help external developers take their App from ideation to development to test and all the way to publishing in Splunk's application marketplace. We are looking for backend engineers and full stack developers who thrive on working on both frontend and backend.
Your Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance our current AppInspect and CLI checks to move from 95% automation to 100%
- Maintain and enhance our App Review Portal built on Python and Next.js
- Gain a deep understanding of the Splunk platform and App platform in order to reduce the friction for our customers to migrate and operate in our cloud environment
- Learn new technologies necessary to accomplish the business objectives
- Collaborate with our product security, UX designers, product management, platform engineering teams to focus on solving customer pain points
- Collaborate with senior engineers to improve our systems
- Build services with consideration for performance, scalability, reliability, high availability
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience building scalable systems
- Familiarity with the Splunk platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with developing and working with Restful APIs
- Experience with Python (preferred), Go, Java or another modern programming language.
- You are comfortable working in Javascript or Typescript or willing to learn
- Having worked with modern UI frameworks and libraries (Next.js/React) is a plus
- Proven ability to pick up new technologies and concepts quickly, coupled with an unending desire to learn and improve.
- Strive to work in a team-first, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Highly self-motivated and disciplined.
- Familiarity with application containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, or MIS or equivalent experience
