Sr Financial Operations Analyst
Splunk is looking for an individual to join its finance team and be one of the first to help us establish our Costa Rica shared services center. This Finance Operations (FinOps) Senior Finance Analyst role will be a part of our transaction approval and analytics team supporting the global FP&A department. You will partner closely with FP&A leads and business partners across functions and get to know different business units across the company. In addition, this is an opportunity to be part of starting our new Costa Rica FP&A shared services team and help shape the office culture.
Candidates will have outstanding partnership and communication skills, handle multiple priorities, as well as the ability to deal with the ambiguity that comes in a fast-growing organization. This is a great opportunity to become part of the FP&A team and have potential to directly help improve Finance processes and systems that impact spend management across all of Splunk.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
- Responsible for FP&A fundamental data validation such as authorization to spend or hire by reviewing/approving purchase orders and hiring requisitions to ensure all relevant financial information is accurately recorded.
- Construct and analyze first pass of monthly and quarterly spend purchase order based accruals, and draft PO accrual spend analysis and expense trending.
- Assist in ad-hoc analysis under the direction of senior member of the team.
- Introduce improvements, streamline, and eliminate unnecessary processes and workflow that will enhance the overall operation and efficiency of the Finance organization.
- Collaborate with various functional departments and internally within Finance as appropriate.

- 4.5+ years of related finance or accounting experience
- This role is for doers; be able to get into the details and get the job done while at the same time being able to see the forest for the trees

- Strong customer service orientation and a desire to help others succeed, across the team and their stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with some direct supervision as required.
- Basic financial acumen broadly across the organization (e.g., understanding of financial statements, chart of accounts, business intelligence, FP&A processes, etc.,)
- Project planning, coordination, communications and process/system change experience a plus
- Prior software industry and/or US headquartered company experience a plus
- Software and system skills (Google Suite, Workday, Tableau, SAP, Slack, Zoom) a plus. Microsoft Excel is a must.
Education: Got it!
- Bachelors Degree is a must, in Finance or Accounting or related relevant areas a plus
- Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, etc. a plus.
