About The Role

Security Sustainability is responsible for maintaining the overall security posture and the improvement of security services operating in both our IT and cloud environments. We are security and software engineers who engage with product and infrastructure teams at every level, helping address a litany of security challenges. Our goal is to make the Splunk environments more secure, transparent, and robust for Splunk's service owners and Cloud customers to operate in.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of security engineers who are passionate about both enterprise and cloud
  • Run a service queue for incoming security issues and ensure that the team is completing tickets in accordance with SLAs
  • Seek to improve the team by removing barriers to success through interactions with Splunk employees and customers
  • Manage team members by having recurring 1:1s, crafting career goals and holding them accountable for success and failure
  • Lead projects across security engineering and operations by meeting with teams to resolve requirements and creating development plans
  • Mentor and grow junior engineers, and empower and unblock senior ones
  • Partner with our Talent Acquisition team as we recruit, interview and hire the best engineering talent to join Splunk’s growing Security team!

Qualifications:

  • A strong security-minded people manager with 5+ years of leadership experience and a strong interest in people and team development
  • A quick learner of new technology
  • A manager that has managed a team that has supported geographically diverse regions of the world with security solutions
  • A metrics driven person who understands what is measured - is important
  • A hands on manager that can step-in an help a team member with a technical problem they are facing
  • Driven to enhance processes and strive for their continuous improvement
  • Passionate about new technologies and have a strong desire to learn and understand them
  • Experience with compliance frameworks like SOC2, PCI and/or FedRAMP is a bonus
  • Based in Costa Rica
