Observability Solution Architect

As a Senior Pre-sales Solution Architect you will become part of a world-class team that provides deep technical domain expertise and thought leadership across Splunk's Observability solutions. This is an overlay position where you will support Splunk’s pre-sales and sales organisations across strategic opportunities in ANZ and across the APAC region. You will have the opportunity to be the subject matter expert internally, and across the broader industry.
During the sales cycle, you will facilitate domain specific discovery and qualification, and deliver product demonstrations that directly address customer pain and emphasize Splunk’s unique value proposition. You will guide prospects through trials and proof of concepts, demonstrating Splunk’s ability to meet and exceed customer requirements and building a positive relationship that will go beyond the initial transaction to provide value to our customers for years to come.
Finally, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to share your knowledge and experiences to ultimately improve our business and our customers’ success.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the top minds in the Observability space, and partner with development and product management team members to redefine how customers manage, monitor and analyze their observability data
- Understand and help to orchestrate all phases of the sales cycle, including leading proof of concepts and other customer validation activities
- Be comfortable working with customers to help them define their future observability roadmap as a trusted advisor
- Be successful working with all levels of an organization from the C-suite down to individual developers and SRE’s
Requirements
- Experience working in Sales Engineering or other similar roles that are customer facing
- Experience with software engineering/software development roles
- Comfortable working with at least several programming languages and runtimes such as: Java, .NET/.NET Core (C#), NodeJS, Go, etc.
- Experience with microservices and serverless architectures, for example Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless functions
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure (certification is preferred)
- Understanding of Cloud-native architectures
- Prior experience with observability solutions such as application performance monitoring (APM), distributed tracing, metric time series, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Understanding of OpenTelemetry (preferred)
- Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles (preferred)
- Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced teams
- Encouraged travel is approximately 25%, focused primarily in region
