Role:
The Senior Director of Product Management for Get Data In (GDI) will be responsible for evolving, refining, and delivering the roadmap for our data onboarding & management solutions and platform in order to save our user’s time: by making it easy for them to get data into Splunk and derive insights they need and by accelerating their ability to understand and solve for issues. The right candidate will have an opportunity to use their entire range of skills and collaborate with product teams, sales, marketing, and development to guide Splunk’s solutions in this space. This role presents an excellent opportunity for the right individual to establish themselves as the owner of a key aspect of Splunk’s industry-leading platform.
Responsibilities:
- Own the overall strategy for Splunk’s platform-level data acquisition and integration capabilities, including edge processing, agent management, data connectors, pre-built integrations, and platform level ingestion services.
- Understand domain and platform level market including customer needs, competitive landscape, and macro-level market trends.
- Ensure the scalable, reliable, and cost-effective operation of cloud services for data ingestion and streaming analytics.
- Synthesize customer feedback, user research, input from Security and Observability teams, and sales and marketing feedback to evolve, refine, and align the GDI strategy.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Architects, and other Splunk product teams to deliver unified value.
- Collaborate with product marketing and GTM teams in creating a compelling vision and messaging to win in market.
Requirements:
- Must have Data Streaming technology experience and understand the ecosystem.
- Background in enterprise data management; bonus if those were monitoring, log management or analytics products.
- Minimum 10 years industry experience, including at least: 5+ years in product management for Cloud (SaaS or IaaS) products.
- Must have managed a team of Product Managers
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize requirements across conflicting dimensions and to be clear on the minimum capabilities that matter.
- Excellent analytical / problem-solving skills. Data-driven. Ability to identify patterns and synthesize disparate data into a coherent whole.
- Strong written and verbal organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to lead and influence via persuasion, patience, and energy.
- Experience working with Agile development teams using Scrum methodology.
- Passion for building products that are both technically solid and that win in the marketplace.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline required, or equivalent practical experience.
- MBA desired. Or equivalent practical experience.

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $244,800.00 - 336,600.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $220,000.00 - 302,500.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $196,000.00 - 269,500.00 per year
