About the Role

As a member of Splunk’s Workforce Identity and Access Management (Workforce IAM) team, the Principal Security Engineer will drive the evolution of end-to-end IAM solutions in alignment with security policies/standards and business objectives. You must have hands-on production experiences with IAM solutions such as Directory Service (e.g. AD), Access Management (e.g. Okta), IGA (e.g. Sailpoint) and PAM. This role will work with the Senior Manager of Identity and Access Management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of comprehensive IAM strategy and roadmap
  • Evaluate current state against the defined industry and leading practices including industry standards such as NIST CSF
  • Drive and lead all aspect of the solution implementation and its adoption across the company
  • Evolve solutions that best meet business strategy, requirements, current state environment constraints and alignment to target state architecture
  • Be an authoritative and trusted partner with deep, practical experience in IAM to various business areas, as well as to management, compliance, risk and governance functions
  • Liaise with partner teams (e.g. data, infrastructure) to ensure that all solution architecture reviews are defined and elaborated
  • Research new technologies in the marketplace and suggest opportunities to better support business objectives
  • Clearly articulate and proactively communicate vision, strategy, and plans, build consensus and understanding
  • Mentor junior or peer resources

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall IAM solution design, architecture and implementation experience in large enterprise environments
  • Technical leadership and strong verbal and written communication skills to guide project delivery teams to implement the solutions that you have defined and to compel team members to apply your recommendations
  • Expert knowledge and application of IAM capabilities: authentication, authorization, entitlement and role management, access certification, privileged access management, secrets management etc.
  • Hands-on experience with products such as Okta, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Sailpoint and standards like SAML, SSO, RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, FIDO2
  • Deep AD or Okta expertise, experience or certifications is a plus
  • Strong experiences with MFA, Password-less, IGA, PAM and RBAC/ABAC

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required or equivalent work experience
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification preferred

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $171,200.00 - 235,400.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $156,000.00 - 214,500.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $143,200.00 - 196,900.00 per year
