Nutanix is seeking a senior technical and people leader to serve as Director, Channel Systems Engineering – APJ, responsible for building, enabling, and leading a high-impact Channel Systems Engineering organization across the APJ theater. This role is critical to accelerating partner-led growth by ensuring Nutanix partners have world-class technical capability, architectural depth, and go-to-market alignment to successfully sell, deploy, and expand the Nutanix portfolio.
As a member of the APJ Channel leadership team, you will act as the senior technical authority for the channel ecosystem, partnering closely with APJ Sales, Channel Sales, Product, Enablement, and Engineering leaders. You will balance executive-level partner engagement with operational excellence, talent development, and execution rigor to drive measurable partner revenue outcomes and long-term customer success.
Role responsibilities:
  • Lead and scale a geographically distributed team of Channel Systems Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders across APJ.
  • Own team performance, engagement, succession planning, talent reviews, promotions, and development plans.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, continuous learning, and customer-first execution.
  • Define and execute the APJ partner technical strategy aligned to Nutanix APJ channel and sales priorities.
  • Ensure partners meet and exceed technical readiness, certification, and enablement requirements across the Nutanix portfolio.
  • Drive partner technical excellence that directly impacts pipeline creation, deal velocity, and win rates.
  • Serve as the senior technical executive sponsor for strategic and elite APJ partners.
  • Lead partner technical advisory boards, architecture reviews, and executive briefings.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex pre-sales and post-sales technical challenges involving partners and customers.
  • Partner closely with APJ Sales and Channel Sales leadership to align technical resources with priority growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Enablement, and Marketing to influence roadmap feedback, solution messaging, and partner offerings.
  • Identify new business opportunities for partners across enterprise, commercial, and emerging segments.
  • Own partner-driven technical pipeline visibility, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure consistent usage of Salesforce and operational tools, adherence to processes, and compliance with Nutanix policies.
  • Continuously refine partner engagement models, technical programs, and field execution mechanisms.
  • Lead hiring strategy for Channel Systems Engineering roles across APJ in partnership with Recruiting.
  • Ensure strong onboarding, mentoring, and coaching programs for new and existing team members.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and leadership development within the organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% across APJ and globally to support partners, customers, and internal stakeholders.
 
What You will Bring to the role 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA or post-graduate qualification preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology, strong leadership experience in technical pre-sales and partner-focused organizations.
  • Proven experience leading multi-country, multi-cultural teams across the APJ theater.
  • Strong track record of driving partner-led revenue growth and technical sales success.
  • Deep technical expertise across virtualization, HCI, cloud platforms, containers, networking, storage, and enterprise infrastructure architectures.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels in a fast-paced environment as well as in a matrix organization

HybridThis role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
