About the Team

The Frontend Engineer will be part of the Compute UI Team, a collaborative group focused on developing and maintaining intuitive front-end applications that enhance user experience at Nutanix. The team operates in a hybrid work environment, with members located in India and San Jose. The team culture emphasizes problem-solving, adaptability, and mentorship, fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages continuous learning and collaboration across different locations to achieve their mission of delivering seamless compute solutions. 

You will report to the Technical Manager of the Compute UI Team, who values support and mentorship, ensuring that team members receive guidance and assistance from both local and remote colleagues. The team operates in a hybrid setup, requiring members to come into the office at least 3 days a week, facilitating collaboration and team bonding.

This role does not require any travel, as the primary focus will be on remote collaboration through daily stand-up calls and functional meetings with teams in India and San Jose. The candidate will interact closely with colleagues across different time zones, promoting effective communication and teamwork without the need for physical travel. 
 

 

Your Role

  • Develop and maintain responsive front-end applications using JavaScript and React JS. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including members in India and San Jose, to align on project goals. 
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions. 
  • Contribute to building components and implementing front-end features while ensuring best practices. 

Engage in problem-solving and technical discussions during coding interviews and team meetings. 

  • Support onboarding and training new team members by sharing knowledge and resources. 
  • Work towards proficiency in domain knowledge relevant to AHV and catalog services. 
  • Build strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across different time zones.

What You Will Bring

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in front-end technologies, specifically JavaScript and React JS. 
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and proficiency in React JS. 
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to learn domain knowledge quickly. 
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment. 
  • Good communication skills, especially for coordinating across time zones. 
  • Adaptability to learn new technologies and domain expertise as required.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. Workplace type may vary based on location and team requirements. Please speak with your recruiter for details. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $128,000 and USD $255,600 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
