LookDev TD
Description
The LookDev TD works with modellers and textures artists within the Build Team, as well as lighters, to produce photorealistic assets as well as assets for animated projects. The role will include the ability to develop tools for the department using python.
All assets created will support the workflow requirements to aid the smooth running of production so it is important you have the ability to create and design look development that is simple, elegant and efficient and easy to share with other team members.
Must have
- Either VFX and/or animation industry experience working on assets
- An ability to produce high-end assets under tight deadlines from on-set reference and/or concept art
- An understanding of the pipeline and experience working collaboratively with other departments
- A solid understanding of look development fundamentals and tools
- A strong understanding of colour space, bit depth and lighting and how they are represented in data
- An understanding of coding language; VEX, Python or C++
- A strong understanding of physically based rendering
- An understanding of rendering efficiency
- A knowledge of Houdini Solaris
Nice to have
- Experience with OSL scripting
- Experience working with Houdini Solaris
- Experience working with Clarisse
- Experience working with Mari
- Experience working with Substance Designer and Substance Painter
- Experience in shading fur and hair

Please note that this is a unionized position and will be covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE, in the coming months. As a unionized employee, you will be required to join the union and will benefit from the conditions set out in the collective agreement. Union dues will be required once the collective agreement is in place.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000 CAD to $130,000 CAD. DNEG salary ranges are determined by function, department, level, and location. An individual's pay within a given range is determined by their transferrable or job-related skills and work experience. Salary ranges are modified from time to time based on external market data collected through our third-party surveys.
